My writer’s group, the BSFS Writer’s Critique Circle, meets twice a week at the Baltimore Science Fiction Society’s headquarters/clubhouse. Since I live in Pennsylvania, not far from the Maryland line, it’s quite a haul.
The last meeting was canceled on the day of the meeting (hey, it happens). For reasons entirely of my doing I didn’t get the word, and so drove into town- and two other critique group members didn’t get the word either. There we were, standing on the steps, trying to figure out what had happened.
A wasted trip, and no critiques- except that’s not what happened. Instead, we drove to the nearby Enoch Pratt Library’s Southeast Anchor location, where a very nice lady fixed us up with a meeting room, and we had our own little critique session.
Librarians are some of my favorite people. Gotta love ‘em.
