The May/June issue of Fantasy and Science Fiction is the second issue C.C. Finlay has edited since taking the post from Gordon Van Gelder, beginning with the May/April issue. Man Gelder remains the publisher. F&SF has been published continuously since fall of 1949, making it one of the most long-lived of speculative fiction magazines.
Incidentally, BSFS’s own Sarah Pinkser has a short story, “Today’s Smarthouse In Love” in the issue.
Mr. Finlay also has a story, “Time Bomb Time”, in the May issue of Lightspeed, and another, “The Empathy Vaccine,” in the June issue of Analog. That’s a full plate, but as Finlay’s blog points out, Fantasy and Science Fiction has a long history of writer/editors, including Kristine Kathryn Rusch and Anthony Boucher.
Here’s wishing the best in his new job.
